TPD@Scale Latin America and the Caribbean

SUMMA is the Regional Lead designated for Latin America and the Caribbean to develop and conduct the activities of the TPD@Scale Coalition for the Global South. As Regional Lead, SUMMA puts in action the TPD@Scale program covering three main areas:

  1. Creation of a regional network. This network is meant to function as a permanent working group that will share and mobilize experiences and initiatives regarding TPD@Scale models. To animate and sustain this network, SUMMA will host thematic webinars on different topics related to TDP that use ICT approaches. It will also develop and organize regional workshops to disseminate the work and findings of the activities conducted by the Coalition, discuss successful and promising projects and initiatives, and facilitate dialogue among different stakeholders–governments, NGOs, academics, etc.
  2. Mobilization of evidence and knowledge. SUMMA will conduct research that helps to characterize the regional situation with respect to TPD and the use of ICTs. A first study–a landscape review–has as a main objective the identification of strategies, policies, and programs that LAC countries are using to address the challenges in providing quality TPD to large numbers of teachers. The landscape review will also include three case studies of concrete initiatives.
  3. Provision of strategic support to LAC governments. SUMMA will assist governments in the region to design, develop, implement, and evaluate TPD@scale programs.
